Chris Maragoth — Depths of Despair (ft. Cherry Summerfield)

Cinematic Melancholy: Chris Maragoth Plunges into the "Depths of Despair" (ft. Cherry Summerfield)

Prepare to be swept away by a soundscape of profound emotion and fragile beauty. Chris Maragoth, the musician and mastermind behind the eponymous musical project, has unveiled the title track from his new EP, "Depths of Despair," featuring the powerful vocals of Cherry Summerfield.

This track is a masterclass in atmospheric heavy music, weaving together elements of Gothic and Symphonic Metal to create something truly cinematic and deeply intimate.

🎼 A Journey Through Sorrow

"Depths of Despair" is the perfect entry point into the five-track EP. Driven by the commanding presence of Cherry Summerfield (of @july15th), the song is a melancholic metal track that feels both massive and delicate.

• Cinematic Scope: The arrangement blends epic symphonic layers with the dark weight of Gothic Metal, painting a vast emotional canvas.

• Powerful Female Vocals: Cherry Summerfield's vocals carry the track's sorrow and reflection with a force that is both commanding and heartbreakingly beautiful.

• The Maragoth Touch: As with all his releases, Chris Maragoth handles the writing, arrangement, guitars, and bass, crafting a sound that is focused and rich in texture.

The track was expertly mixed and mastered by Joker Tone, ensuring that the emotional peaks and the crushing lows hit with perfect clarity.

✋ Human Heart, Human Hands

In an age increasingly dominated by generative tools, Chris Maragoth takes a firm and admirable stance, emphasising the human element behind his art:

"As with all of my previous releases, I continue to fully abstain from the use of artificial intelligence in the creation of the music, cover artworks and music videos. Every element is written, arranged, recorded and produced by human hands."

This commitment to human craftsmanship shines through in the music's authenticity and emotional depth. From the strings of the guitar to the swell of the symphonics, the passion of a human artist is undeniable.

If you enjoy metal that explores the heavier side of feeling—a place where sorrow is beautiful and reflection is cinematic—then "Depths of Despair" is essential listening.
