Tryste – The Long Journey (Music Video)

T R Y S T E – The Long Journey (Single)

Emerging from Dublin, T R Y S T E (an acronym for To Rise You Seek The End) creates emotionally heavy music that blends post-metal, modern shoegaze, post-rock, and black metal into a sweeping soundscape of contrasts. Their music lives at the edge of beauty and brutality, carried by a mix of soaring clean vocals and piercing screams.

With their upcoming debut EP, To Rise You Seek The End, the duo introduces their first single, “The Long Journey” — a track that embodies both their sonic ambition and deeply personal lyrical vision.

Musically, the song feels like the hypothetical child of Cult of Luna, Holy Fawn, and Leprous, combining massive riffs with atmospheric textures. The result is a dense, cathartic sound that channels both raw heaviness and delicate emotion.

Lyrically, The Long Journey reflects on vocalist Gabriel Gaba’s personal battles — growing up in a conservative Christian household and finding himself in conflict with faith, identity, and reason. The recurring theme of ancestral ties versus personal awakening threads through the lyrics, making the song as introspective as it is devastating.

Produced and mixed by John O’Kelly, with drums recorded by Nikola Dusmanic and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, the track carries both underground grit and professional clarity.

Key Line from The Long Journey:

“Miles away, you’re miles away – but still too close.”

This refrain captures the tension at the heart of the song: the struggle to break free while still feeling bound by the past.
