OVERSENSE depict the traumatic transformation of their protagonist Mr. Mackie into a psychopathic serial killer in the viciously brutal music video for the new single “Love”
Today, on August 26th, 2021, OVERSENSE releases “Love”, the third single from their upcoming Modern Melodic Metal album “Egomania”. The song is a prequel to the 2017 single “Mr. Mackie’s Chase For Love” from their debut album “The Storyteller”. Haunting pianos contribute to the dark instrumental atmosphere, perfectly matching young Mackie’s desperate search for love and affection. With the two successful singles “Be” (feat. Herma Sick) and “The Longing” accompanied by the impressive music videos, OVERSENSE have already earned their first notable achievements. Now, the four musicians really let it bang and give with the brilliantly sinister, dramatic music video, directed by Mirko Witzki (Caliban, Any Given Day, Powerwolf), a vicious insight into Mr. Mackie’s traumatic childhood and show why he became a murderous psychopath. The two first singles “The Longing” along with the King Midas-inspired lyric video as well as “Be” (feat. Herma Sick) with its versatile sound in an ecstatic manner are, like the album “Egomania”, to be released on September 17, 2021, via Dr. Music Records, a must-hear for every Modern Melodic Metal fan and are available at all digital music providers.
Last summer, OVERSENSE thrilled their fans with the successful single „White Wolf“ (Quarantine Version) and provided a successful kick-off with their Startnext crowdfunding campaign at the beginning of this year. Now the time has come and the young German Modern Melodic Metal band announces “Egomania”, its sophomore long-player. The impressive album has been produced and mixed by bandleader Danny Meyer at his Sunway Studios and the mastering has been handled by Avantasia keyboard player Miro Rodenberg as well as Olaf Reitmeier of the Gate Studio (Kamelot, Epica, Kissin’ Dynamite). Thematically perfectly fitting to the ongoing global political chaos, Fridays for Future and the current social media madness, it zeroes in on e.g. faceless fashion and beauty influencers without rhyme or reason with its eleven songs, skillfully packed in brilliant, majestic and catchy modern Melodic Metal anthems. Thereby, OVERSENSE has stylistically evolved and captivated with a more modern, harder sound that fascinates with musical experiments. OVERSENSE is definitely currently one of the most emerging bands the European Metal scene has to offer. The band around the charismatic frontman Danny Meyer, YouTube star guitarist Jasmin ‘Jassy J.’ Pabst, bass player Marco Volpert and drummer Patrick Lippert belong to the hottest Modern Melodic Metal acts of the last years, not only since the several weeks’ tour with Metal Queen Doro Pesch!
The brand-new OVERSENSE album “Egomania” is now available for pre-order as a six-panel digipak CD as well as in the magnificent limited deluxe edition consisting of the digipak with 16-page booklet in a noble box with a USB stick featuring an exclusive piano version of “Love” as MP3, a DIN A2 band poster, a signed autograph card, a postcard as well as stickers, and of course digitally as a pre-save or pre-order at the well-known streaming providers and download stores. A selection of stores can be found here!
The story of OVERSENSE begins in 2012 when Danny Meyer and Patrick Lippert record their first songs together and make contact with Olaf Reitmeier. In the following years, the EP “Dreamcatcher” was released, followed by the album “The Storyteller” in 2017 via Dr. Music Records, with which the former line-up gathered excellent international reviews. The following winter, Jassy J., whose YouTube channel JJ’s One Girl Band now has nearly 272.000 fans around the world, is confirmed as a permanent band member. After the tour with Doro in winter 2018, the preparations for the second album start. On “Egomania” OVERSENSE manage to refine the strengths of the debut significantly and to reach the next level sound-wise. The album is a perfect Modern Melodic Metal masterpiece, with which the four musicians will win over both the young metalheads and the veterans of the scene. OVERSENSE has everything a young band needs. Besides great songs with catchy tunes, especially exceptional talent Jassy J. on guitar and singer as well as songwriter Danny Meyer with his unique voice stand out.
