Scalar is a progressive metal band based in Israel.

Formed in 2016, the band has undergone several line-up changes, until the current lineup was established in the summer of 2018.

The band’s musical style consists of different parts from the vast genre of metal, ranging from heavy, groovy riffs with harsh vocals, to ambient, spacey segments with beautiful harmonies. Some notable influences of the sound from the modern metal scene are Tesseract, Periphery, Karnivool, Dream Theater, The Contortionist, and many more.

The band has previously released a self-titled debut EP, a single – “Acceptance”, and have been working on their debut full-length album for the past two years, which will be out on December 15th on all platforms.

The album, “Painting Visions”, is a product of hard work, and it marks an evolutionary step in the band’s sound, writing, and lyrical themes.

Lyrically, the album addresses the internal and external struggles of every human, regarding mental changes, warfare, religion, and more.

Two singles from the album, “Entropy” and “Unwind”, have been released with lyric videos on YouTube, and are available for streaming worldwide.
