DUST N BRUSH ”Filth Of Our Blood”
2010 – Poland
Dust N Brush is the next in my country, the representative of the modern trend of Deathcore. I must say that despite my skepticism towards mass secondary, long time growing up like mushrooms after the rain of strange band, there are the teams that properly appealed to me from the first hearing. It’s great, therefore, that our countrymen have shown that resides in their potential and have something to say on this board. No, I’m not going to write that the guys from Siewierz changed my life with their music or through their activity I re-defined my perspective on the genre. The truth is that nothing new came up. You can hear a clear inspiration in playing the likes of Heaven Shall Burn and in particular The Black Dahlia Murder. Do not change the fact that “Filth Of Our Blood” is really a piece of great, thoughtful craftsmanship. As you can easily guess the memory of the names of two bands that have influenced the band, we are dealing with a more melodic variation deathcore’a. I am glad that the guys are focused more on composing specific, rather complex composition and technical riffs, rather than hew square cottage industry breakdown for the breakdown. Of course this item scrolls on a disc, but in a very subtle amount. More we have a whirl, sometimes really daring. You can hear, however, that when recording drums resorted to some studio tricks, because I do not believe that so young, fledgling band could record the stuff so evenly hehe. Of course, in these words is not an ounce of complaint, on the contrary, in life you have to do that and it`s fuckin great that the guys came into the matter seriously and professionally. The sound is truly one of the biggest advantages of this material. Selective, transparent and congruent of world standards. Really, if someone told me that this new album TBDM, I would realized after the vocal timbre that it’s scam. Vocalist uses not only the high screams, but mixing it with cool or scream growls in lower tones. There are also pigsqueals. Zero complaints in this regard. You can hear that the lyrics are well matched, and even quite a rich color palette. Arrangements are briliant for me, the more I like playing where the Swedish melodic echoes. Here, not quite that much is happening, the mass combination, the whole is surprisingly very easy to digest, not to say that even catchy. Another plus for building climate by atmospheric samples or discharging power ballad “Just Touch It”. Taking into account the fact that this is a debut CD, guys from Siewierz suspended bar very high. Actually, today they can be safely classified as such leaders play in Poland next to Drown My Day, Alienacja or In Twilight’s Embrace. I keep my fingers crossed for them, because it is now one of my biggest hope.
