New Metal Bands #10

Welcome to the 10th issue of New Metal Bands. Before we move on to this week's bands, we would like to thank you for being with us until this issue.

As Extreminal Metal Magazine, we have been protecting the underground metal music culture and its bands since 2003, and we continue to strive for our goal of helping new bands establish their names without slowing down. This is the 10th blog post; we have written so many blog posts in the Turkish section as well. I love doing this series. It is a pleasure to introduce and review the bands we receive through SubmitHub, as we receive extremely talented bands from diverse genres and countries.

selenoplexia - Plague Dream

Blackened death metal band based out of Chicago. With lyrical inspiration rooted in existential abjection and terror, Selenoplexia blends stream-of-consciousness songwriting with the brutality of the genre's staples. Founded in 2021 by guitarist Daniel and drummer Jonathan, and completed with the merciless vocals of Courtney and the backbone of bassist Sawyer, Selenoplexia has created a haunting and intense live experience. Selenoplexia released their first full-length album, “Exalt and Despair”, on October 13, 2023. The album was engineered and mixed by Spencer Morris at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, IL and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.

Plague Dream is a 7-minute single that thematically explores nightmarish vermin infestation through multiple musical influences. The track is a fully realised idea on its own and exists independently as a single.

Parthian - Witches of Deliverance

"Witches of Deliverance" is a relentless blend of crushing Death Metal and haunting beauty. With ferocious vocals, blistering riffs, and pounding drums, the song hits hard, but it doesn’t stop there. Orchestral layers and soaring harmonies weave through the chaos, adding an unexpected, cinematic depth.

Equal parts brutal and beautiful, "Witches of Deliverance" shows Parthian at their most fearless, pushing the limits of extreme metal while crafting something truly unforgettable.

Bitter Loss - Эксгумация Выпотрошенных Душ

Death Metal band from cold, northern land (Saint Petersburg, Russia) glorifying despair, sorrow of loss, mental anguish and disappointment in existence intertwined with demonic reefs which are carried by the winds of the forgotten and ancient inferno, including crawling doom moments.

Graveborn - Temporal Sands

Graveborn is an ethereal death metal band from Boston, MA. Founded in 2014 by Chris Ramusiewicz, Graveborn's philosophy is all about introspection and learning from your mistakes. With 4 albums under their belt ("Samsara" in 2014, "Seeds Of Life" in 2017, "The Athenaeum" in 2018, and "Transmigrator" in 2021), Graveborn seeks to exemplify their ethos of refinement. FFO bands like Fallujah, Gaerea, Kardashev, Rivers of Nihil, and Car Bomb.

Temporal Sands is an ethereally heavy work that edges towards Graveborn's deathcore roots, while emphasising the love of riffs and epic melodies that define their current sound.

Omnivortex - Visitant

Based in Helsinki, Finland, the technical/blackened death metallers OMNIVORTEX present their music in a frenetically twisting and turning way. Whether it be from clean melodic passages to raw and dissonant chugs with endless blasting and slapping bass, OMNIVORTEX always have new ideas to offer to the listener. From thrashy death metal to dissonant black metal, they offer you soundscapes to remember.

Chaosdögs - Chaosdögs

CHAOSDÖGS has returned to spit its hatred once more. This work — forged in disgust, tempered by experience, and baptised in loathing — stands as a milestone, carved in the cursed month of February.

While pondering "What more could be added upon the debut album?", we shattered our shackles and let the voice within speak. We channelled that voice through sound — raw, unfiltered, and sacred in its rage. The result: a 30-minute descent into ruin, delivered through 8 hymns of devastation.

Continuing the legacy of the debut, we further embrace Anti-Religious, Neo-Luddite, and Anarcho-Primitivist thought, now fused with Occultism, Esotericism, and a relentless Misanthropy. What you hear is not crafted — it is revealed.

Hidden Intent - Reaper

Since their inception in 2011, Adelaide-based thrash metal brutes Hidden Intent have been working harder than a meat mincer in an Aussie pie factory, nabbing themselves a whopping fan base worldwide with their 80s thrash style deeply rooted in the Bay Area and Teutonic thrash scenes. Fuelled by a firestorm of riffs, frenzied guitar solos, frenetic drumming, gritty vocals and all mashed in together with a solid slab of party, Hidden Intent punch on ruthlessly on the live front as they charge themselves loose onto crowds like a bull at a gate!

With a cluster of international tours and supports tucked tightly under their sleeves, Hidden Intent have found themselves perched on stages with the likes of Destruction, Venom Inc., Flotsam and Jetsam, Dark Angel, Iron Angel, Nuclear Assault, Lich King, Artillery, HAVOK, Toxic Holocaust & Exmortus. From the countless tours here, abroad and with no fear of busting a gut, Hidden Intent have muscled an unassailable tight force. Not only have they well established themselves as one of Australia’s prime thrash metal acts, but just in general, like a VB frothy, they are one of the country’s best!

Schreigarm - The Mystical Rebirth

Schreigarm was born in the frosty February twilight of 2020 in the German city of Neuss. It is a project of two experienced Ukrainian musicians, Styrr and Ingvarr. The style of the band can be described as atmospheric pagan metal combined with the melodiousness of post-black and the intensity of viking metal. The moderately raw sound of 'The Mysteries of Fate', combined with epic keyboards and a magical symbiosis of clean and extreme vocals, creates an incredible atmosphere, immersing the listener in the enchanting world of this conceptual epic.

Mogra - Essence of the Vast Expanse

"A visceral blend of post-black metal, doom, and slowcore, crafted with massive chords drenched in distortion from vintage Big Muffs and tube amps, immersing you in a crushing, atmospheric experience."

Mythráen - A Dragon's Lament

Mythráen is a journey through mist-laden realms, ancient ruins, and forgotten folklore. Drawing inspiration from classic fantasy literature and mythic traditions, this dungeon synth project conjures soundscapes of shadowed forests, crumbling castles, and the echo of old magic. Let the melodies be your guide through the realms of the imagined and the arcane.
