Official Band Statement :
“Sirens Call (live)” is the first video release from the new episode of the concert film series “WeLive”, which has already been putting musicians of various genres in the spotlight since summer 2020 despite Corona (www.welive-festival.com). On April 18th, the creators of punchline studio release Episode 7, the first concert film of the Swiss prog rock sensation “Dead Venus” around frontwoman Seraina Telli.
Dead Venus is a trio that is bursting with virtuosity and playfulness and knows how to stage itself in front of the 10 cameras of the film team quite visually powerful. “It was really great to finally be on a stage again,” Telli said happily after the concert. A joy that could also be seen in the entire band during the recording of the concert and that was not dampened by the lack of an audience due to Corona. Bathed in the dim candlelight, Dead Venus presented a mixture of honest guitar sound, hard heavy metal riffs, dreamy piano playing and playful jazz interludes. A program with many musical ups and downs – including the new single “Flowers and Pain”, which was released on April 2nd and met with enthusiastic reviews worldwide. So now a new musical treat is waiting for the fans of Dead Venus. The now released live version of the song “Sirens Call” in any case makes the expectation skyrocket.
Info about Dead Venus :
Seraina Telli formed the prog-rock band Dead Venus in early 2015. For a year or so before this, she combined lead vocals for the German neo-prog band Surrilium with a solo career but decided she needed her own team to develop her ideas. However, Seraina’s unique brand and style made finding the right people a challenge. Mike Malloth (drums) answered the call and recommended bassist Andre Gaertner to complete the trio.
