A Cataclysmic Tribute: 100 Years of Disaster

But what takes this release from great to truly essential is the official music video. It's a masterful, respectful tribute to a piece of cinematic history: the 1916 Danish silent film, Verdens Undergang (English: The End Of The World).

Directed by the visionary August Blom, this film was one of the very first to ever attempt to depict a massive, cataclysmic event on screen. In a genre that thrives on spectacle, A Constant Storm pays homage to the original pioneer.

Today, September 20th, marks the centenary of Blom's fictional apocalypse announcement. What better way to celebrate 100 years of cinematic doom than by wrapping it in a vicious package of modern black/death metal? The visuals are all sourced from the Danish Film Institute’s historical images, giving the video an authentic, haunting vintage feel that perfectly mirrors the track's depiction of the four riders of the apocalypse.

The Wild, Unpredictable Storm

Formed in Porto, Portugal, and now tearing up the scene from Hamburg, Germany, A Constant Storm is defined by its own mantra: "the wilder the better."

Driven by Daniel Laureano since late 2013, the project's shapeshifting nature is its signature. They are not content to stay in one lane, one genre, or one idea. And that’s what makes them so damn exciting. The only thing you can be sure of is that their creative fire will never commit to a single mould. They will always evolve, always surprise, and always push the boundaries.

"Pale March" is the perfect embodiment of this philosophy—a crushing tribute that is simultaneously looking back at cinema's first apocalypse and aggressively forward into A Constant Storm’s chaotic future.
