Vile Sycophant – Delivered From Madness: Cinematic Deathcore Beyond Borders

Emerging from the gloom of Wales, Vile Sycophant is the new extreme metal project led by Harry Tadayon, guitarist of Worm Shepherd. With its roots in deathcore but a clear ambition to push beyond it, the project combines melodic aggression with cinematic depth and unexpected influences.

Set for release in 2025, their debut EP “Delivered From Madness” spans four tracks that refuse to be boxed in. Drawing inspiration from Japanese music, video game soundtracks, and orchestral film scores, the EP promises a richly layered listening experience. While rooted in deathcore’s brutality, the sound leans heavily into melodic death metal territory, evoking shades of Insomnium and Amon Amarth, reimagined through a darker, more symphonic lens.

Lyrically, the material centres on themes of addiction and personal struggle — the feeling of being trapped and the eventual breakthrough. The track in focus moves with intensity: fast-paced riffing, melodic leads, blast beats, intricate grooves, and sweeping orchestration all coalesce into something both brutal and emotive.

Vile Sycophant stands as a forward-thinking addition to the genre, blending technical force with emotional clarity, and signalling that deathcore’s sonic boundaries are far from fixed.
