Cruel Force Interview with Slaughter

MetallicBrains Metal Radio

Cruel Force play Speed/Thrash Metal from Germany, and I sent off guitar player Slaughter a few questions to answer.

So you guys were around from 2008 until 2012 and then got back together in 2022. Now before we get onto the how and why of you getting back together, I’d like to know what your thoughts are on your debut release “The Rise of the Satanic Might”?

SL: It’s been our starting point that we’re still very proud of. We remember it like it was yesterday and only have great feelings about it.

Now what are your thoughts on release # 2 “Under The Sign of the Moon” and how was it working with Heavy Forces Records back then?

SL: This record could’ve had a different production; personally, I am not too happy about the way it has turned out. I still think the songs are good, but the production should’ve been different. Stef from Heavy Forces Records is a close friend to this day, so we had a great time and all the freedom we wanted. We respect each other a lot; therefore, it is always a pleasure to work with him.

Now are those 2 releases still available?

SL: Both releases have been re-released countless times throughout the years. Shadow Kingdom Records should have them in stock if not already gone again.

Now what led to the band breaking up back in 2012?

SL: We were young, barely 20; some moved to different parts of Germany, which made rehearsal unrealistic. We needed to focus on getting life fixed. So yeah, one thing led to another.

So what led to you guys getting back together in 2022, with 3/4 of the original line-up? Was Vomitor asked to join, or did you just go and got “Spider”, who is your current bass player?

SL: Vomitor was asked again, but he refused, since he was pretty busy with his main band Possession, that were/are going strong. We’re still friends and in good contact to this day. We were talking about bringing the band back to life on and off numerous times in the past decade. Now it felt the stars were aligned.

How did you come up with the name Cruel Force?

SL: We are fans of Violent Force and Obsessed by Cruelty and thought this would match our music.

Now would you say your sound changed much from your 1st 2 releases to this 3rd one?

SL: There is certainly a development in the music. I wouldn’t say we changed our identity or DNA, but we adapted our sound. We’re better musicians, for the better or worse; we have a better production and, in general, are more experienced in life. This all plays a big role.

Now some more singles followed, and here we are in 2026, and you guys are back with an excellent 4th album simply called “Haneda”. Why this title?

SL: We liked the unusual name ever since we went to Japan to see Iron Maiden, the last time they played there. The name and overall Japan had a big impact on us, and we felt something mystical. This is a little tribute to Japan, while the music has nothing to do with Japan.

How long did it take for the coming of these songs to come together, and how long were you in the studio for?

SL: The songs were written in about a year, approximately. The studio time has been split into different parts. So all in all, the recording only was about a month. Not taking in mixing, mastering, re-amping and all reel-to-reel analogue madness that came on top of it.

Please plug any social media sites you have.

SL: We’re found on Instagram and Facebook, that’s all.

I think you guys are one of the best underground metal bands around these days with 4 fantastic releases. Any last words to say to wrap up our interview, and please continue to make great underground metal music?

SL: Thanks for your words and the interview. Many greetings to everyone reading this and enjoying our albums.
