Operating under the flag of modern metal, the Finnish band What Awaits Us is ready to test the limits of this genre by bringing together a unique musical blend. The band’s music combines melancholic melodies with hard-hitting guitar riffs, taking elements from metalcore and melodic deathcore sub-genres.
In 2014, the band released their self-produced debut album, “Awake,” via Sliptrick Records, which gained praise from critics and listeners. An EP named “Anomaly” followed this up in 2018, introducing a more technical, faster, and brutal side of the band’s music.
What Awaits Us has delivered its energetic live shows to many venues in Finland and toured the Baltics warming up the British deathcore act Black Tongue during their tour in 2016.
Between 2021 and 2024, the band released four self-produced singles.
