Jeremy Ross Lawler let here the cat out of the bag from the beginning. Melodic Progressive Metal resounds off my loudspeakers. Highlighted with some Power Metal elements the all in all nine songs become to an independent mass of the special kind. Long, diversified guitar solis ensure for the necessary energy and motion. Along with a powerful drumming originates a certain hardness which however doesn’t act overlaying. The great richness in variety of the project also manifests in interspersed piano passages and the large amount of guest musicians. The use of female vocals which perfectly rounds off the complete works with her operatic voice and who gives a special Gothic colour to it. That outstanding becomes WINTER’S EDGE. Very dedicated and emotional recorded offers “The Ferryman’s Eyes“ a very good insight into the melodic Progressive Metal corner in the year 2014!!!
