Mutilation Rites rises from Brooklyn, NY forming in 2009. “Empyrean” is a blackened thrash, doom, crust mix. The music is typical blackened thrash every now and then the pace slows way down so you get the doom metal mix and a little crust. I really think George Paul’s vocals are a bit to raw for me-in the vain of Dark Throne. “Empyrean” only has six trax on it in total, their is good elements to the music, songs are longer, “Empyrean” is definitely what I would call mood musick-being that I have to be in the mood to listen to it kind of thing. The riffing is average, tempo changes are good, “Realms of Dementia” is my favorite track-nice groove to it, “Fogwarning” is a kool track. Overall, not too impressed by them.
