While the unmistakable influence of Paradise Lost permeates the soundscape, it amalgamates seamlessly with a contemporary, more aggressive edge. Lyrically, the song delves into the timeless concept: “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” Simplified, it echoes the thematic thread of the film Gladiator, where Joaquin Phoenix’s character grapples with the unattainable expectations set by his father.
