Dark Descent Records – 2011 – U.S.A.
If you’re looking for death metal that sounds like its coming straight out of the bowels of hell then you need not look any further because Gravehill’s new album is what you need. “When All Roads lead to hell” will slam you in the face with aggressive tracks full of catchy hooks and vocals that are raw and full of brutality. This will get your blood pumping as you hear Mike Abominator spew out his hatred on tracks such as “Unholy Executioner” and joined in by Exhumed’s Matt Harvey on guitar.
“Extinction” is another great that starts with a clip from Mutant Chronicles before it goes into its unrelenting riffing and Mike’s vocals that could be compared to old school greats like Death or Obituary. Even the breakdown towards the middle holds an evil vibe only to give way to a Slayer-esque guitar solo. The titletrack is an outbreak of devastation and violence with an onslaught of blast beats and traditional death metal riffing. The closing track, “7:06” is probably one of the most intriguing tracks that doesn’t actually start until the 7:06 mark and immediately goes into a cover of AC/DC’s “You Want Blood,You Got It”, which is actually a lot of fun to listen to.
Gravehill delivers their music with traditional savagery that is hard, fast andloaded with blood curdling savagery. “When All Roads Lead to Hell” will give you your fill of quality and straightforward death metal you do not want to miss out on!
