Today I would like to introduce you to a one-man project from Finland. We’re talking about KALMO, who has been travelling on dark musical paths for several years. His latest work is called “Gehinnom” and is distributed via Sliptrick Records. My expectations are generally mixed for one-man projects. But, here you know what’s going on from the first note. Doom Metal, peppered with Black Metal elements. Long passages that reflect monotony and darkness envelop me. Extreme and intense, listening to “Gehinnom” takes a long breath. Because the work may not immediately become apparent to the listener when it is first heard. Nonetheless, the professional interaction of guitar and bass alone creates an oppressive, hopeless situation. The drumming has a supportive effect. The vocals fit perfectly into the dark musical mass, which leaves no space for light and warmth. For some it is boring, for others it is intense music. It’s best to listen to “Gehinnom” yourself. It’s always worth it !!!!
