Paragorn Records – 2010 – Serbia
By the darkness came onto the sky, I started to think that I would be occupied by black metal reviews for this night. Indeed, the night helped me, and prepared the atmoshpere with thunders, rain, and gloomy clouds. Actually Kozeljnik doesn’t fit into this atmoshpere. I had several cassettes of the band, they’ve made two album since I haven’t heard from them. Truth be told, these kind of albums seem above-average to me, because underground has been through great seperations recently. This is also because of the fact that most of the underground bands make great, different black metal albums by developing their musical talents. In short, “pure” black metal albums doesn’t sound good anymore.
Kozeljnik actually isn’t an ordinary band, they’ve done great works in underground scene. But there are lots of bands like them, they might be ideal for the ones who are searching a band that plays the same riffs always, pure black, nothing different. Don’t take it my words as bad things. But the classic Darkthrone “Transilvanian Hunger” sound has gain speed and shape. These friends have an ordinary sound with blast drums and this can cause problems in black metal scene where the number of the bands are rising rapidly.
I don’t know whether the band is racist or not, or they will send me an e-mail full of swearings when they read this review or thank me. Actually I don’t think that they are racist because they worked with a Turkish distro. An average black metal whip, there is no one to hold them from being harder, faster and more powerful. Keep your visions wide, friends. Cool album though.
