HELDRASIL ''Son Of Darkness'' (18.12.2012)

Self-released - 2010 - Malaysia

And once again a band from Malaysia. HELDRASIL put an EP called "Son Of Darkness" on the scene.

The guys play Melodic Death Metal with some Thrash Metal influences. Dark and snotty, but nevertheless with melody it gets after a very short instrumental intro at the opener "Born" (Here is only used the acoustic guitar) very quickly straight down to the nitty-gritty. The all in all four songs go forwards and come across very energetic and lively. The Melodic Death Metal riffs with partially strident guitars loosen the powerful songs a bit without thereby changing the musical base frames. The distinctive growls reinforce the darkness and aggressiveness and give the necessary bite. But, there are also strike once calmer tones (Like for example at "Proud Land") which fit very well in the overall strucutre. But, don't worry. These breathers doesn't last long. This game with tempi and melodies make "Son Of Darkness" to a very interesting EP. The whole is located in the mid tempo area. HELDRASIL play very dedicated and ambitious which you hear with each note. Check out HELDRASIL. It's worth by all means!!!
