Tmina records - 2012 - Denmark
This album is from the Danish One Man project Fjorsvartnir. On it, the listener can find cold and symphonic Black Metal which is not drowned in keyboards like so many other bands do today. The 6 songs here on this album shows that one man can compose good music without any other band members that may bring some ideas into the music which are not in the vein of the most of the material. The first song here on this album is an into which shows to the listener what he can expect from the rest of the album. And what is on the album will surely give to the Black Metal fan who is more into the Underground stuff than into the Mainstream stuff some wet dreams. Unfortunately, I dont know what the lyrics are about, but the music can surely speak for itself. And what it speaks. The music here is cold, grim and dark and sometimes very symphonic. One could easily think that Fjorsvartnir comes from Norway and not from Denmark. The other 5 songs are all between 6 to 10 minutes long and they not even for a moment boring. There are so many things going on in them that the listener has to pay attention to them. I could easily describe them as some kind of journey into the unknown, because you never know what comes around the next corner to say it so. You can see by now that this is not some kind of easy to listen to and not much to expect from it Black Metal release. I will surely keep my ears and eyes open for his next release.
