HELRUNAR have just recently finished recording their fourth album, Sól, which due to its length is going to be released in two parts entitled Sól I - Der Dorn im Nebel and Sól II - Zweige der Erinnerung respectively.
Skald Draugir is very excited about the long-awaited follow-up to Baldr Ok Íss: "Sól is going to be our darkest and most nihilistic, but also our most spiritual work to date! On two albums with altogether around 100 minutes playing time, we will take new paths music-wise and lyrics-wise, while our roots are still very much black metal. Musically, we are putting an emphasis on atmosphere and an emotional arc of suspense on Sól, lending a certain epic broadness to the tracks."
At the end of August, Skald Draugir and Alsvartr are going to return once more to the Klangschmiede Studio E to put the finishing touches to the double album. The release of Sól is still scheduled for 2010.

Norway's Iskald has checked in with the following update about recording new material:
"This is a part of many updates where you will be able to follow us in the process and making of our new album due to be released early next year. After some intense sessions back at Sortland, the pre-production was finished within time. As for the final result sound-wise it didn't turn out quite what we expected, but the most important thing was to complete all song and prepare for upcoming studio sessions. All songs have become nothing but amazing during this whole process, and this album is for sure to bring Iskald to a whole new level. We're exited as hell to get on with the recordings.
"On Sunday we will fly down to Oslo to start record the drums. One week is estimated for these recordings. We're proud to announce that Stamos Koiousis and Vangelis Labrakis once again will produce the album. Hopefully we will be back with pictures/videos from the recording during the week. Last we would like to thank all who showed up at Blablafestivalen and supported us. You made that exclusive gig worth it."
