Theory tells that tragedy is a form of drama based on human suffering that invokes in its audience an accompanying catharsis or pleasure in listening. MISERATIONs newest album "Tragedy Has Spoken" follows this path musically and lyrically.
The theme of the third album of these Scandinavians can be described as sum of the major tragedies of mankinds history. Lyrics for Tragedy Has Spoken have been written by Pär Johansson (Satariel, Torchbearer, The Few Against Many) and bands lead singer Christian Älvestam (also in Solution.45, Torchbearer, ex-Scar Symmetry), and address the diversity of tragedies. Some of which have taken the guise of accidents or natural disasters, while others were carried out with human hands and intent. Behind all this there is to find an imaginary architect, a fictive entity something powerful, aware, far above the manmade concepts of good or evil: the nature of tragedy itself.
Musically MISERATION expand their view on forward-thinking, vicious Death Metal by integrating new instruments to the mix. There still is to find what caused the quality and sustainability of Your Demons, Their Angels (2008) and The Mirroring Shadow (2009), but in 2012 there is more than technical, intricate Death Metal with a good dose of melody. Tragedy Has Spoken was recorded using 8-string guitars, which gives the wall of distortion a certain distinctive flair. In addition MISERATION are incorporating folk instruments such as the Indian harp Esraj, the Persian hammered dulcimer Santur, sawblade, organ, mandolin and piano, as well as Mongolian throatsinging. Music and lyrics are globally and far beyond standard practice, so there is a lot to discover!
The cover artwork for Tragedy Has Spoken has been created by well-reputed artist Pär Olofsson (Immortal, Abysmal Dawn, Immolation, The Faceless).
A first track taken from the new album will be revealed on May 9th!
German thrashers DEW-SCENTED have finished recording their new album at Soundlodge Studio in the deepest heart of Northern Germany with Jörg Uken (GOD DETHRONED, SUICIDAL ANGELS, NIGHTFALL) as producer.
The band states, "We have worked withJörg already on 'Incinerate' for the recordings and then on the previous album, 'Invocation', for recordings and mix. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to team up with him again and the time we worked on the new music together in his halls pretty much went flying by! The best part however is: The final mix turned out really, really HEAVY, so much we can tell you already!!! Some songtitles off the new album are: 'Sworn To Obey', 'Reawakening', 'Storm Within' and 'Gleaming Like Silver'."
The group adds, "The new album will be released by late July 2012 via our good partners Metal Blade Records in Europe and Prosthetic Records in North America. The artwork was once again created by our buddie Björn Goosses / Killustrations, who we have actually partnered with since 2003's 'Impact' release, so it's been almost a full decade! Wow! The new album's artwork looks totally stunning and we can't wait to share it with all of you soon! We are right now finishing off the work on the layouts and just did a promo photo session this past weekend, so all things are rolling forwards "
On the live front, DEW-SCENTED was forced to cancel its previously announced appearance at Chronical Moshers open air festival on June 9 "due to logistical complications on our end." The band will also support Metal Blade labelmates SIX FEET UNDER on a run of shows in August.
The reigning king of technical, historically-themed brutality, NILE, has announced a July 3rd release date for its upcoming studio album, At The Gate Of Sethu. The follow-up to Niles latest state-of-the-death-metal-art release, Those Whom the Gods Detest (2009), will once again be released via Nuclear Blast Records. Neil Kernon (Cannibal Corpse, Macabre) handled production duties for Niles seventh full-length.
Nile recently wrapped up a U.S. tour in support of Detroit, Michigan's melodic death metal outfit, The Black Dahlia Murder, which concluded with a performance at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival on Friday night.
Swedish Deathcrust Metallers BOMBS OF HADES have revealed the album artwork cover and album tracklisting for the upcoming brand new second full-length album entitled "The Serpent's Redemption".

ust one month after the departure of ex-drummer Riky, AVULSED is proud to announce the joining of a new drummer to their ranks.
After testing three excellent drummers, the decision was taken in favour of Osckar (Oscar Bravo) which proved to be not only the best drummer, but also, and very important as well, great qualities as a person as well as the necessary dedication for the band, which will undoubtely inject fresh and renewed hopes.
Osckar is one of the best drummers on the Spanish Metal scene which also plays in the legendary Heavy Metal band SOBREDOSIS and also on NIGHTFEAR as well as recently departed from melodic Death Metallers ATMOSPHERE GREY.
Here you can see a short video taken during our first official rehearsal with Osckar where he already played the first 5 songs he learned for the test.
After one year and half of profitable cooperation with Norwegian artist Tiril Skardal, both The Way Of Purity and the singer decided to part ways. The split has been amicable and it's only due to different goals and directions in respective artistic visions.
Bass player xWithout Namex stated: "We had great time with Tiril and we thank her for the great job that she has done for The Way Of Purity. We wish her the best for her artistic career, but now we have to turn page and go ahead with our incredible new singer Marja Panic".
Marja Panic already started working on some new songs and will be part of the creation of TWOP's third album including the promotion of "Equate" as well.
Marja Panic stated:
"My name is Marja and I live with the death in the heart.
My deepest roots are in nature. No matter who I am, where I live, or what kind of life I lead, I will remain irrevocably linked with the rest of creation.
Nature, give me one chance and every action will be for you.
You are my reality, I will be your gold.
I will summon Tsunami and Earthquke cause I fell like you, with the death in my heart, since that dirty scap of meat surfaced from the Sea and screamed at you " I am humanity".
This is what pushed our hearts to death.
My God, withness what I can do. I can scream the illness away and make them new."

The Australian melodic doom/death metal recording project Subterranean Disposition has agreed to a deal with the Canadian underground label Hypnotic Dirge Records known for acts such as netra, Ekove Efrits, The Foetal Mind, and Exiled From Light among others to release the upcoming self-titled debut album in late summer 2012. Subterranean Disposition is a one man project headed by veteran musician Terry Vainoras, known for being involved in numerous projects within the Australian metal scene over the years such as The Eternal, Cryptic Darkness, and Insomnius Dei among others.
Originally inspired by and conceived as a follow up to the music Mark Kelson had written for his and Terrys Collaboration on the Insomnius Dei album Illusions of Silence, the forthcoming self titled Subterranean Disposition album explores further the use of dissonance and ambience, lending more dynamics to the long passages of darkness and light, crafted from the influence of early 90s doom metal with forward thinking embellishments in song writing , in comparison to the likes of Cult of Luna and Bohren und der club of Gore as evidenced in the first released track The Most subtle of storms.
In speaking about the signing with Hypnotic Dirge, Terry Vainoras had this to say: "I am overjoyed to be joining the great roster of bands at HDR, I feel that there is an cool aesthetic and work ethic kinship between the band and label and I am very much looking forward to working side by side with them to release this long awaited debut this summer."
