The album was recorded at Teknikkompaniet (Vetlanda, Sweden) by Peter Lundin; mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg of Cult Of Luna fame. KONGH's front-man, David Johansson, commented:
"After a very long time of hard work, this album is finally ready for release. We couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out and I really think it is the best Kongh material so far. For our old fans, I am pretty sure it will be well worth the wait and I also think it holds great potential to satisfy a bunch of new listeners. In my opinion, the album is more dynamic and has much more emphasis on melodies than our previous works. At the same time it maintains the harshness and it's undoubtedly the heaviest slab of metal we've done as well."

Candlelight Records today confirms the worldwide signing of DEMON LUNG. The Las Vegas-based quartet, featuring guitarist Phil Burns, bassist Patrick Warren, drummer Jeremy Brenton, and vocalist Shanda Fredrick, is scheduled to begin recording of their full-length debut at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with producer Billy Anderson (Sleep, High on Fire, Eyehategod) in the coming weeks. It is anticipated for a Spring 2013 release date.
Metal Hammer called the bands self-released 4-song demo Pareidolia, earthy yet horror-themed doom metal a la Candlemass with an Acrimony Groove. The magazine calls Fredrick a wild-eyed, satanic songstress. Popular music and film site Ave Noctum notes, DEMON LUNG has a deft touch and solid sound. Their music is clearly from the soul. Fair to say they are a welcomed addition to the ranks of the doomed. Teeth of the Divine adds, Fredrick has the requisite sultry pipes that keep a steady, hazy tone. She has a deep, bluesy voice that fits the languid music perfectly.
The band comments, we are very honored to join the Candlelight roster. To be included among such talented artists is very humbling, and we thank the great people at Candlelight for giving us the opportunity.
DEMON LUNG has shared the stage alongside Pentagram, High on Fire, Jucifer, Witch Mountain, and Castle and will resume performing once recording has been completed.
A video for the song Lament Code is available below. The clip was directed by Dustin Mills, the mastermind behind The Puppet Monster Massacre.

Ukrainian black metal heathens KHORS recently unleashed a video for "The Last Leaves." Shot live at the Metal Heads Mission Festival this past August in Crimea, Ukraine, the track comes off the bands Wisdom Of Centuries full-length issued via Candlelight Records Cult Series earlier this Fall.
Today, NEUROSIS has made an official band statement:
As of today, after much thought and discussion, visual projections as we have presented them over the last 20 years will no longer be part of Neurosis live shows.
We are going to begin the process of reinventing our live presentation. This process will begin at zero, allowing the music to speak for itself and lead us where it may. Whatever form or however long this may take is unknown.
This also signals a parting of the ways with our visual artist of the last twelve years, Josh Graham. Joshs tireless work and talent came at a time when we really needed it and carried us gracefully into the video age with original content we couldnt have dreamed of when we were just starting out. Our parting comes from a place of mutual respect, friendship and understanding. We all agree that this is a step Neurosis has to take and are open to working together on specific projects in the future. We wish him success and the best of luck with all of his own musical endeavors and artistic passions.
In conjunction with this release, Josh Graham issued the following statement:
For us all, time for change has come. The friendships and body of work that have spawned from our time together will live on as we move forward. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with Neurosis over the last 12 years.
As the crossroads are upon us, and we feel that the pinnacle of our collaborative efforts have been reached; we now look toward our individual futures with support and encouragement. Constant reinvention is at the heart and soul of us all, and we will all continue to persevere.
Despite the larger picture winding down as we move on in our own directions, we will continue to work together on specific legacy projects including reissues and possibly more if/when the right projects come up.
Finnish SONS OF AEON (feat. current and former members of GHOST BRIGADE, SWALLOW THE SUN, ENDSTAND and CODE FOR SILENCE) have revealed the first track off their forthcoming 'selftitled' Lifeforce Records debut.
Swedish thrashers MASSDISTRACTION have inked with Mighty Music. The band's debut album, "Follow The Rats", will be released on January 28, 2013. The critically acclaimed CD was issued in Sweden in August and will now be made available in the rest of Europe.
MASSDISTRACTION was founded by the end of 2007 by guitarist Jon Hjalmarsson and his brother Per. The underwent a number of lineup changes before arriving at the current formation, consisting of guitarists Jon Hjalmarsson and Ali Nassadjpoor, drummer David Larsson, bassist Kalle Möllerström and vocalist Mikkjal G. Hansen.
Known as an energetic live act that tears the stage apart, MASSDISTRACTION has opened for such bands as HATESPHERE, MNEMIC and RAISED FIST. They were named the best unsigned metal band in southern Sweden 2011 in the competition "Released Live And Unsigned" by a jury consisting of people from Sweden Rock Festival, Jägermeister and Warner Music.
Without even having a record deal at the time, the band entered the studio in the fall of 2011 to record "Follow The Rats", with Hjalmarsson acting as producer, engineer and mixer. The CD was recorded and mixed over a six-month period and was mastered byDragan Tanaskovic (IN FLAMES, MUSTASCH) at Bohus Sound in Kungälv, Sweden.
Maldives-based death/black metallers NOTHNEGAL have entered Vakaruge Studio in Malé to begin recording their as-yet-untitled second album. The follow-up to 2012's "Decadence" is being produced by Matt Hyde (SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, AS I LAY DYING), with vocal production by Paul Reeve, who co-produced five tracks on MUSE's acclaimed debut album, "Showbiz". Additional production/engineering will be handled by longtime NOTHNEGAL producer Mohamed Shamheed. NOTHNEGAL's longtime guitarist Fufu will not be part of the recording of the new CD, but remains a member of the band. Chippe (SERENITY DIES) will be filling in for Fufu on the album, which will mark the first NOTHNEGAL recording since vocalist Affan joined the band as an official member (Affan made a guest appearance on NOTHNEGAL's last album, "Decadence").
Commented NOTHNEGAL guitarist Hilarl: "Its been almost a year since the release of our debut album, 'Decadence', and we have already come up with enough demos for a new album.
"We have toured South Asia, South Asia and the Middle East since the release of 'Decadence', [and] whenever we meet somebody who knows that we are from the Maldives and when we go through the reviews, we get the same question about why we sound like a European or American band and nothing like a band thats coming from these islands.
"The new music will be different and [will] feature ambient sounds and exotic instruments from the Maldives. We [will] also be doing a couple of songs entirely in our native language, 'Dhivehi.' The songs [will] be heavier but far from our previous death metal sound."
"We will be launching a studio diary and update it by posting videos/photos of the recording sessions. We [will] also be travelling to different islands of the Maldives to capture the sounds and the exotic instruments we plan on using in our music."

Finnish dark / doom metal upcomers HANGING GARDEN have revealed a teaser for their forthcoming Lifeforce Records debut "At Every Door".The silence is over. Hanging Garden are back with their 3rd studio album At Every Door, which is the bands most ambitious work so far. Musically the album has much more variety than the previous two, combining influences from Cult of Luna all the way to Sigur Ros.When it comes to lyrical themes, Hanging Garden has always been about dystopic visions of the ouroborean fate that quite likely awaits man. Before, Matti Reinola was mostly responsible for the lyrics, but on this album they were mostly done by Toni.
Toni: "Continuing the lyrical themes that have been prevalent on the first two albums came quite naturally for me. This album concentrates on different stories, protagonists and viewpoints of what might come after, should our future take a turn for the worse and end in cataclysmic consequences that spring from our actions."
