Polish technical death metallers from Catharsis have finally completed their work on 'Rhyming Life And Death'. The band was active in the 90's, often compared to bands like Death, Atheist and Cynic. After a quite succesful release of 'Bitter Distain' and some life performances, Catharsis decided to take a break. Back in 2010, reactivated by the bassist/singer Adam Mamok and guitarist Tomasz Świerz, the band started to work on the new material. Joined by a young female guitarist Katarzyna 'Kate' Bujas, Catharsis decided to finally hit the studio. The album was recorded in Invent Sound Studio (Bydgoszcz, Poland) during a few sessions from October 2012 to March 2013, with a session drummer Łukasz 'Lucass' Krzesiewicz (Sammath Naur, Gida) - produced, mixed and mastered by Szymon 'Sigmar' Grodzki (Sammath Naur, ex - Mala Herba). The cover artwork of 'Rhyming Life And Death' was made by Michał 'Xaay' Loranc, the artist known from cooperation with bands like Behemoth, Vader and Nile.
Catharsis is currently looking for a label.

The Czech infernal legion SEKHMET is awakening again to its life after three years since releasing its last album "Opus Zrůdy" and this time it is far wilder and more dangerous! After ten years at the scene it is coming with a chain of penetrative changes which will introduce the new visage of the band. The new vocalist Lord Aegir vitalized Sekhmet´s composition and for the first time in the history of this band the texts are completely in English. Another change was made on the visual side which will be also presented on the graphics of the band. Nor the logo avoided the changes and it was re-designed by the master in his own domain- Christophe Szpajdel.
The year 2013 will be in the shade of "Words of the Master (Proverbs of Hell)" which is the name of the new album devoted to Ulvberth and Tronder Nefas,to both for personal friendship, favour and mutual respect. All music for the album was composed by Set and the second parts were created with the help of Warlord and Nekromancer, The texts were in the sphere of action of Master from the Swedish BESTIAL MOCKERY whose sinister vocal sounds in two songs. For the first time in the history of this band the clear backvocals will appear which does not mean that they will reduce the aggressiveness, contrary is the case! The album was recorded in Kavkaz studio thanks for which it gained the production and potential and it is unprecedential in the case of the Czech Black metal Scene.
"Words of the Master (Proverbs of Hell)" comes out on 1st July 2013 via Werewolf Productions as a CD and later also as an LP (in August)There´s no doubt that the new album will be a breakthrough not only by sound, music and graphics but it will also be the old honest blackmetal which will represent the new face of SEKHMET after ten years.
Swedish blackened metal outfit PEST premired the first song off their forthcoming album "The Crowning Horror". The release will hit the shops on the 18th of June in Europe and 9th of July in North America via Agonia Records, and the debut track - a song straight out off the cult old-school metal niches, that may appeal to both heavy and extreme metal public - can be streamed below.Thrilled to return after a five-year break, PEST is once again back on its own turns, exposing a characteristic brand of old-school black metal to passion and mixing melodic yet haunted guitar licks with speed, rawness and chaos. "The Crowning Horror" was mixed by Fred Estby (Dismemebr/Carnage/Necronaut) at Gutterview Recorders and mastered by Andy Jackson (Pink Floyd's engineer, Grammy nominee) at Tube Mastering, UK.
"The Crowning Horror" will be available on a noble 8 panel digipack CD, digitally and on vinyl (first 100 copies on a solid, purple wax vinyl). The album is preceded by a 7" EP titled "Black Oath c/w Morbid Revelations" released on April 16 worldwide.

UK death thrashers Arceye have released details for their upcoming sophomore album 'At First Light'. The album will be released worldwide on August 7th via Hostile Media.
Commenting on the album the band said: "This album we feel we have really trimmed the fat on our songwriting and made it the best it could be! If we didn't think that it kicked ass it didn't make the cut! We also stepped up the production value, recording the drums In Foel studios and working with Scott Atkins (Sylosis, Cradle Of Filth, Amon Amarth, Gamma Bomb) on the mix and master. The Meaning of 'At First Light' is a representation of where we felt we were as a band when we were writing the album. Since our last release we have gained two new members, both with a writing influence and we've developed more of a vision of the music we wanted to play."
'At First Light' is the follow up to Arceye's highly acclaimed debut album 'The Divide Between Chaos & Order' which saw the band appear in pages of Terrorizer and Metal Hammer and was hailed as "hard-hitting" and "balls out thrash."
The album art was created by none other than Craig Mackay of the band himself.
"The album artwork, title and first track tie in together as we wanted this to be our opening statement, with the theme running through the album. The idea behind the name/artwork is that the wolf climbing the mountain is always hungrier than the wolf on top. We feel we have gone through a rebirth as a band and this album is all about the climb to get us on to the next run of the ladder. Our Drummer Craig Mackay did all of the artwork for the album including painting the front cover and all the band portraits in the booklet."
Tracklist: 01. At First Light 02. The Storm 03. The Longest Drive 04. I Silently Wait 05. Sirius 06. Brother Disarmed 07. Prey Forgiveness 08. Damage Done 09. The Thirst 10. Dusk

We sincerely believe that this deal is perfect for our new album called Revelatio. Now, let's give way for music and art. "
A&R "Worm" stated: "I have been a fan of Dunkelnacht since I've known them and at theend I decided to sign the band since they produced such an intense, emotional and spooky album. They are serious guys, some of them have a school of music and somehow live with and for music, just like me. I also like their visual concepts that are always dark and gloomy. I am really looking forward to release this album that after their mix at Reasound has become a monster. Check the preview out and taste the darkness."
