Olaf Zissel, drummer for German beer lovers and cult thrashers TANKARD, has been admitted to the hospital following a suspected stroke. He is said to be "doing well," considering the circumstances, and will undergo tests by a team of doctors over the course of the next few days. As a result, he won't be able to accompany his bandmates to the Summer Breeze and Motocultor Fest festivals in Germany and France, respectively. Filling in for him will be Gerd Lücking (HOLY MOSES), who has previously served as a soundtech for TANKARD.
Comments TANKARD: "We're shocked and are keeping our fingers crossed for Olaf [so] that he will be released from the hospital soon. We [hope] that he will get well soon and fast. And we want to thank Gerd, who [agreed on] short [notice] to play these shows with us."
Florida-based death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE have unveiled their plans for a massive U.S. tour this fall. They are bringing a brutal package of bands with them across the United States beginning October 8 and running through November 7. Direct support is slated to come from Metal Blade labelmates CATTLE DECAPITATION, preceded by Sweden's SOREPTION, plus a local opener on each show.
Norwegian black metallers IMMORTAL now consisting of lyricist/guitarist Demonaz (real name Harald Nævdal) and drummer Horgh (real name Reidar Horghagen) following last year's split with frontman Olve Eikemo (a.k.a. Abbath) are working on material for the band's next album, to be released via the Nuclear Blast label.
Demonaz, IMMORTAL's founding member, has created the material based on his visions of Blashyrkh for nearly 25 years.
Florida death metal veterans MALEVOLENT CREATION will release their twelfth album, "Dead Man's Path", on September 18 via Century Media. The cover artwork for the CD was created by tattoo artist German Latorres and perfectly captures the evil vibe of the album.
The lyric video for the "Dead Man's Path" song "Blood Of The Fallen" can be seen below.
Audio samples of all the tracks that are set to appear on "The Ride Majestic", the tenth studio album from Sweden-based melodic death metal experts SOILWORK, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The CD will be released worldwide on August 28 via Nuclear Blast.
"Speed Of Light", the new video from British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN, can be seen below. Written by guitarist Adrian Smith and vocalist Bruce Dickinson, the track is taken from the band's new double album, "The Book Of Souls", due on September 4, 2015 through BMG in the U.S.A. (Parlophone Records in the rest of world).
It's time to reveal the cover artwork for germany's most rotting Death Metal band that have emerged in the last years. We're talking about CRYPTIC BROOD and their upcoming 4-song EP "Wormhead".
This new mini CD is the continuation of their debut demo in 2013 and their split album with GRAVEYARD GHOUL in 2014. On this new putrid offering, CRYPTIC BROOD delivers an even heavier sound through their three own songs and a very unique interpretation of SUFFOCATION's "Infecting the Crypts". This awesome cover, which clocks for over 6 minutes, has been twisted in a way that looks more like an AUTOPSY song!! In fact, CRYPTIC BROOD style could be definied as a bastard hybrid between Death & Doom heavily inspired by bands like AUTOPSY, WINTER, DERKETA, UNDERGANG, early ASPHYX, HELLHAMMER...
Track listing for "Wormhead" is as follows:
1. Temple of Pestilence
2. Gargling Vicious Mass
3. Infecting the Brood
Release date for "Wormhead" is set for 20th of September through Xtreem Music.
The UKs spiritually irreverent death metal export Abhorrent Decimation have just revealed the title, track list and release date for the hugely anticipated album, Miasmic Mutation.
Mixed and Mastered by Ronnie Björnström (Aeon, Apostasy, Bodyfarm, Krow), Miasmic Mutation is the bands debut album and will be released in various formats worldwide on September 25th.
Abhorrent Decimation vocalist Ashley Scott shares the following about the announcement, It's been such a long time coming, I am truly honoured to finally be here at this milestone, announcing Miasmic Mutation to you all. The real joy will come when we can let you hear it and we can get out there and gig it! 1000's of hours of work and love have gone into this release. The material pushed us into a darker and heavier sounding place and I know this record will live up to and supersede all expectations. The combination of stella engineering and recording by David Archer and the final expert mix and master from Ronnie Björnström has delivered such incredible results, I am so proud of what we have achieved."

Mutating in the South of England, Abhorrent Decimation have relentlessly forged a name for themselves since their inception in 2013. With the acclaimed Infected Celestial Utopia EP (2013) alongside a host of great tours and festival appearances the band have established their name in the European metal music scene with both fans and bands alike.
From the inexhaustible swedish Death Metal school comes CORROSIVE CARCASS... a combo formed back in 2004 who already recorded a few demos and a debut album in 2012 entitled "Composition of Flesh", receiving good reactions from fans & medias. Now the band has inked a deal with Xtreem Music who will release their upcoming album.
Hyaena is the new, long-waited album of Italian Progressive Death Metal legends Sadist. Produced and mixed by Tommy Talamanca at Nadir Music Studios in Genova, Italy, Hyaena is a compelling mix of the band's traditional Death Metal and Progressive influences with ethnic and tribal sounds.
All lyrics, written by the singer Trevor, are centered around an intriguing concept about one of Africa's most fascinating predators, whose legend says is ridden by the devil.
This is without any doubt the band's most mature, diverse and experimental album to date, in which every detail has been meticulously looked after, musically and visually (the beautiful front cover by painter Luca Orecchia and booklet design by Manuel Del Bono are both top notch).
The cover artwork, tracklist and a videoclip for the first single 'The Lonely Mountain' will be released soon. Hyaena features a very special guest appearance by percussionist Jean NDiaye, who will also follow the band on stage on the next tour, and will be available starting from October 16th on Scarlet Records.
Belgium's epic black metallers Saille have released a new video for "Aklo", a track taken from their acclaimed and most recent album "Eldritch", which was released via Code666 records in November 2014. The video itself was shot under the auspices of Sam Velghe and recorded last May.
Sam Velghe comments: "As always I try to visualise the atmosphere and feel of a certain song in my videos. A song like 'Aklo' wants to be recorded and edited in a basic, raw way without the use of tripods, sliders or steadycam. The song dynamics are reflected in the energetic movement of the band members and the backlight enhances the dark and emphasises the song.
The additional slow motion parts contribute to the mystery of 'Aklo' and the story behind the lyrics. This video is all about performance, but in a different way than Saille is usually seen, with lightshow and bigger stages. This is pure, raw and dark, as the song, as it should be"
