Almost three years after their pummeling Gutter Earth EP was inflicted upon the masses, cold-blooded Elizabeth, New Jersey-based death metal insurgents GRIMUS have completed their first proper full-length, Omnicide.
With its members all hailing from a plethora of extreme metal acts including Iberian black metal outfit Windfaerer, Metal Blade tech/death act Allegaeon and others, the members of GRIMUS are united in hatred for humankind, their output surging with guttural, cutting-edge death metal prowess, with monolithic slams and swells of the most vicious kind infiltrating their uncompromising low-end attack. These atrocious features are grippingly captured on the quintets debut full-length album, Omnicide. The term literally meaning the killing of everything is a testament to man's inherent, bloodthirsty nature and audacity to alter his surroundings, through efficient forms of destruction. Paradoxically, mankind is willfully committing suicide in its attempt to become a godlike creator. This album is a soundtrack to the decimation of all that is known, "the age of none."
A thirty-six minute onslaught of blasting and grooving barbarity, Omnicide was tracked and mixed by guitarist Marco Bobadilla at Crimson Recording and mastered by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Beneath the Massacre, Job For A Cowboy) at West West Side Music. GRIMUS will self-release Omnicide on June 25 2013.

Said Devraj Sanyal, MD Universal Music group, South Asia Metal is a burgeoning scene in South Asia & often ignored. At UMG we believe that this scene must be supported fully and Reptilian Death's new album "The Dawn of Consummation & Emergence" is a fierce statement to every metal fan. Brilliantly produced & madly brutal Reptilian Death is UMG's foray into the Metal publishing domain & this will lead the path for many indie bands to follow."

SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed away at about 11 a.m. today (Thursday, May 2) near his Southern California home. He was 49. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.
Hanneman who in January 2011 contracted necrotizing fasciitis, likely caused by a spider bite, and has been undergoing surgeries, skin grafts and intense rehab since spoke to U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine in the fall of 2011 about his recovery which has seen him sit out an entire two years' worth of touring with the band.
Hanneman was kicking back in a hot tub with a couple of beers when noticed a spider bite him on the arm.
"Didn't even feel it," he said. "But an hour later, I knew that I was ill." On his way to the hospital, "I could see the flesh corrupting," he recalled. "The arm was real hot. I got to the emergency room, and thank god the nurse knew straight away what it was. By chance, although it's pretty rare, she had seen a case a little while before. At that point, I was an hour away from death."
Although the spider bite itself was not serious, it had caused bacterial infection in the deeper layers of the skin and tissues of the arm.
"Unbelievably, the doctor was a SLAYER fan," said Hanneman, "First thing he said to me was: 'First I am going to save your life. Then I am going to save your arm. Then I am going to save your career.'"
Hanneman underwent emergency surgery to remove the dead and dying tissue. The doctor was able to save the muscles and the tendons, but the guitarist had a large open wound on his arm. He spent the next two months in hospital, having extensive skin grafts and heavy doses of antibiotics to suppress the infection.
"I had to learn to walk again," Hanneman said: "I hadn't stood up for a month, apart from anything else. The skin grafts were very painful and all the muscles and tendons in the arm where very weak. That was OK, though. I count myself lucky that the nurse and doctor knew right away what had happened to me, because things could have been a whole lot worse."
At the April 2011 "Big Four" concert in Indio, California, Hanneman joined SLAYER onstage for a two-song encore, but he hasn't yet been able to tour again.
Dust N Brush, the technical death metallers from Siewierz (Poland) have reminded their fans and the whole metal world about their presence, with a new EP titled Exist for What Youll Die For. The EP is a prelude to the forthcoming second long-play to be released in 2014. The three new songs featured on this EP are a great example of modern technical melodic death metal with progressive influences, for fans of Beyond Creation, Within The Ruins, Veil of Maya, and Archons. The fans of the afore-mentioned should be pleased, when listening to this stuff.
The worldwide release of the EP will take place on 11th May, via bands social web profiles and platforms, such as bandcamp, 8merch, and many more.
The band commented on the release: All the time we have spent on the producing of this EP was not in vain. In the meantime, we were touring with Vader, Hate, and other bands, which was crucial for the changing of our approach to sound in general, switching more towards pure death metal. The last six months were a huge challenge for us, but nonetheless, we think that we have managed to put out the best effort to date. We are satisfied with the result and we surely cannot wait to read the first reviews. The new songs are brutal, complex, melodic, but also really mature. It is a huge step forward from Filth of Our Blood, and we predict that fans will have varying opinions about it. Anyway, see you all on tour and at festivals, and remember to let us know what you guys think about the record. In the fall, we are going to stop promoting the EP and focus on our next album. Keep your eyes and ears open (laughs)!
Exist for What Youll Die For was mixed and mastered in IX Studio (Poland), under the supervision of Michal Urgul Barski.
SORCERY has come to an agreement with Xtreem Music for the re-issue on CD of their legendary debut album from 1991 "Bloodchilling Tales" together with their previous 7"EP from 1990 "Rivers of the Dead", both with remastered sound for the first time and a totally revamped artwork and layout. This new re-issue comes under the title of "Legacy of Blood" and has been released last month by swedish labels To The Death & Blood Harvest on 12"LP vinyl format.
This album was out of print on its original CD version for a few years already and since the layout, sound and original cover were of poor quality, the band decided to give it a completely new look. However, original cover art both from the album, EP, photos and lyrices are being included on the new design for everyone's enjoyment.
SORCERY's debut 7"EP caused quite an impact in the swedish scene back in 1990 as well as their debut album a year later, being considered one of the leading Death Metal bands in their country together with acts like ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, CARNAGE, GROTESQUE... creating their own sounding DM style with a devilish feel resulting on a cult album for any lover of swedish Death Metal.
Release date for CD version of "Legacy of Blood" will be May 10th. You can see the album cover on big size and listen to an album track below.

The artwork for the CD was created by Trine + Kim Design Studio.
Commented artwork designers Trine Paulsen and Kim Sølve: "The front cover illustration is an octagram and pretty much everything in the artwork is built solely upon an obsession with the figure 8 and eternity. We wanted the artwork to have some of the grandioseness that we feel the concept imply "

Bassist Slawomir "Mortifer" Archangielskij of Polish extreme metallers HATE died in his sleep on April 6 after suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia. The 27-year-old suffered from an irregular heartbeat and died of natural causes, according to a posting on the band's Facebook page. The group added: "It is also known that Slawek suffered from asthma and had problems with breathing whilst asleep (obstructive sleep apnea)."
In a new posting on HATE's Facebook page, the band says: "We would like you to know that we have decided to continue with the band and keep on doing our job as always. There is still a big hole in our hearts, but we do not want to focus on mourning over the tragedy. Instead, we decide to focus on the band and keeping it alive as well as all the ideas we shared with Mortifer. We treat what we do as a mission and we cannot see the end of it. On some shows to come, we will be accompanied by Mortifer's wife Alexandra on bass guitar. She has been in the business for some time and been involved in a few Russian bands before. As an experienced musician, she will undoubtedly manage on the stage with us. On other shows, we will be joined by Piotr Kolakowski (NEYRA), a talented musician who had previously been on stage with us as a session musician. The festivals below have been confirmed, but there are more to come soon."
