Czech Republic-based black metallers INFERNO have inked a two-album deal with Agonia Records. The band will enter the studio in early 2009 to record its fifth album, entitled "Black Devotion".

Reactivated British thrashers ONSLAUGHT will record their performance at this year's Damnation Festival on Saturday, November 22 in Leeds, UK for a live album, to be released in early 2009 through Candlelight Records.

American occult black metal band NIGHTBRINGER is preparing to release its debut album, "Death And The Black Work", through Forever Plagued Records. According to a press release, the effort contains "over 70 minutes of occult mayhem and ethereal soundscapes." The LP pressing will be released as a large triple-LP box set release. |

PATHS recording (originally scheduled for September) has been delayed until sometime around summer. CANNIBAL CORPSE will be touring relentlessly after their upcoming release, so we have to get in when we can. We have nine songs written and are working on a few more. I'm really into the new tunes and am looking forward to recording them.

MASACHIST, the project featuring Thrufel (AZARATH, YATTERING), Daray (drums; DIMMU BORGIR, VADER, VESANIA, NEOLITHIC) and vocalist Pig (Wojciech Wasowicz, a.k.a. Sauron, DECAPITATED), has posted the songs "Crush Them", "Inborn Obedience" and "Womb" on the group's MySpace page.
MASACHIST recently completed work on its debut album at Progresja Studio. The CD's cover art was created by Eliran Kantor, who has previously worked with TESTAMENT.
MASACHIST is currently seeking a suitable label to release the album.

UK death metallers NAILED have set a November 3 release date for their second album Hatred, Failure & The Extinction of Mankind. The album is their debut for Anticulture Records and sees worldwide distribution through Plastic Head.
The band had this to say:
“We finished up recording and mixing this album back in July 2007, then we started shopping it to labels. In the middle of this our guitarist left who we replaced with Jim, before getting picked up by Anticulture in late 2007/early 2008 and they set a May release date. During this time the artwork that we had for the CD was bought by Sony BMG, rendering it useless to us, so we had to get the artwork re-done by Marcelo HVC. This delay gave us the chance to remaster the album at the label’s request and remove some samples that we were struggling to get clearance for, but lo and behold when we went back the studio had deleted the audio! Luckily Andy Giblin had the rhythm guitars and drums saved in his personal archive, so we re-recorded the bass, vocals and solos in June of this year, remixed the album and remastered it.”

Polish portal Interia.pl reports that drummer Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski and guitarist Maurycy "Mauser" Stefanowicz have left the veteran Polish death metal band VADER. According to the Meinl Cymbals web site, Daray will join the Norwegian black metal group DIMMU BORGIR while Mauser will reportedly concentrate on his UNSUN project, which will release its debut album, "The End Of Life", on September 22 via Century Media Records. Their rumored replacements in VADER are former LOST SOUL drummer Adam Sierzega and either Jacek Hiro from SCEPTIC or Waclaw "Vogg" Kieltyka from DECAPITATED on guitar.
