 Denver, Colorado-based technical death/grind metallers CEPHALIC CARNAGE have begun work on the follow-up to 2007's "Xenosapien" for a fall release via Relapse Records. The as-yet-untitled CD is being recorded at the band's own studio with longtime engineer/producer Dave Otero.

 Former NOX frontman and SEVERE TORTURE drummer Seth Van De Loo has rejoined the Dutch death metal outfit NOX as the replacement for drummer Bob Dussel who left the band a couple of months ago.

"Venomous Habitations", a brand new song from Tampa, Florida's DIABOLIC, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off the group's fifth full-length album, "Excisions of Exorcisms", which is scheduled for release on June 8 via Deathgasm Records. The CD was recorded at D.O.W. Studios in Seffner, Florida with producer Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez (MORBID ANGEL, TERRORIZER, UNHOLY GHOST, live sound for NILE). The cover artwork was created by Joe Petagno (MOTÖRHEAD, MARDUK, KRISIUN, ANGELCORPSE).
 "Excisions of Exorcisms" will be released in jewel case and digipack CD formats.

 Austrian blackened death metal outfit BELPHEGOR will enter Abyss Studios in Pärbly, Sweden on June 19 with producer Peter Tägtgren (IMMORTAL, CELTIC FROST, HYPOCRISY, DIMMU BORGIR) to begin recording the band's as-yet-untitled new album for an early 2011 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

"The Soulful Dead", the new video from the British death/grind band TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED, can be viewed below. The clip was once again helmed by Dave Kenny, who previously worked with the group on the "The Great Depression" video.
"The Soulful Dead" comes off TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED's third album, "Degenerate", which is scheduled for a May 24 European release via Metal Blade Records (Rising Records in the U.K.).

 California tech-death masters DECREPIT BIRTH have issued the following update:
"Drummer K.C. Howard and guitarist Dan Eggers have both decided to part ways with the band. We want thank them very much for the hard work.
"K.C. left the band right after the recording of the new album to pursue his career as a full-time music teacher.
"K.C. contributed since 2004 and has been an integral part of the band over the past years. Dan, who joined in 2008, decided to part ways to due to personal career choices.
"We wish them the best of luck and success in whatever they do.
"For live shows, we will be bringing in drummers Samus Paulicelli (ex-ABIGAIL WILLIAMS) and Lee Smith (ESTRADASPHERE), both helping us (separately) on various future tours. As well, guitarist Chase Fraser (ANIMOSITY, SON OF AURELIUS) will bring his amazing guitar skills to the table.
"This temporary reconstruction of the bands lineup has left us no choice but to cancel for the fourth annual California Metal Fest. We apologize to all the fans that were looking forward to seeing DECREPIT BIRTH at the California Metal Fest this year. We will be back for the Summer Slaughter tour 2010 with a new lineup and ready to perform a new set list featuring songs from our upcoming album, 'Polarity', which will be released July 27 on Nuclear Blast Records."
Drums for "Polarity" were tracked at Sharkbite Studios (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS) in Oakland with producer Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, SUFFOCATION, IMMOLATION) while the rest of the recordings were overseen by guitarist Matt Sotelo before the entire effort was mixed by Ohren at Castle Ultimate Studios.
