Commenting on the long journey to recording EXHORDER's third album, the band's founding guitarist Vinnie La Bella says: "27 years? Man, that's a big number! A lot has transpired over the course of such an extended amount of time, and this record touches on it all. There is material on this record that is literally 27 years old along with material that was written just six months ago, and everything in between.
"This is, without a doubt, for the first time in our career, the album we intended to give you. Production, sound, art, it's all there, with no compromise! I'm eternally grateful for all who helped make it happen. And to all that have waited for it, prayed for it, begged for it, or even dreaded this moment, much love and I'll see you in the 'ring!'"
The official music video for the song "Ögoblick Av Nåd" from Swedish melodic death/doom metallers OCTOBER TIDE, featuring ex-KATATONIA members Fredrik and Mattias Norrman, can be seen below. The track is taken from OCTOBER TIDE's sixth studio album, "In Splendor Below", which will be released on May 17 via Agonia Records.
Wacken Open Air line-up seems breathtaking this year! Slayer, Anthrax, Saxon, Monster Magnet, Rage, Parkway Drive, Sabaton, Body Count, Demons and Wizards, Bullet for my Valentine and Within Temptation are just some of the bands announced for the 30th anniversary of the festival. The whole list can be seen from the link below: https://www.wacken.com/de/programm/bands/#!/filter/name
The festival will take place in the small town of Wacken in northern Germany around Hamburg. In the year 1990, when the first Wacken Open Air Festival was over, no one would imagine that it was going to be the most prestigious metal festival of the world. As of the year 2019, thousands of metalheads are expected to visit the festival at the beginning of August and the tickets are already sold out!
Our friend and partner Michael Berberian will be a special guest of the festival.
Michael is the founder and chef of the legendary Season of Mist - leading French independent label for all Metal music. Since 1996, this label has followed its path and has worked with such great artists as Abbath, Mayhem, Rotting Christ, Heilung, Sólstafir, Drudkh and dozens of others.
At the Metal East: Нове Коло festival we will held a meeting with Michael for all comers, during which he will share his history and unique experience.
Meet & Greet Zone, where free meetings with bands and autograph sessions will take place, will also work throughout the festival.
What is the Metal East Nove Kolo Festival?
Much more than just a festival we are committed to offer a complete and unique cultural event; the symbiosis of all forms of artistic expression within a historical, mythological and traditional representation of the great European narrative through the ages, cultures, and people that formed and continue to shape it.
History has been forged over centuries in many ways, and Art was one of its main vehicles, which is why you will find not only concerts, but also other cultural forms such as crafts, cooking, painting, photography, literature etc. We want to offer you a unique event and an overall experience.
Therefore this project will materialize at an atypical place, right in the center of our beautiful city of Kharkiv. We are waiting for many of you from May 31 to June 2, to honor together the memory of our glorious ancestors in a fraternal and family atmosphere, to revive the flame of the past, like a torch in the darkness.
History of the festival
Over the years, the Nove Kolo concept has united people to support independent artists.
In 2017, we held the Kolovorot Nove Kolo, in 2018 we paid tribute to the French festival Ragnard. It's time to move on and create our own festival brand.
So, in 2019, the first Metal East Festival will take place: a festival created by a team gathered over the past years under the sign of the Nove Kolo.
We will take into account all the experience gained, eliminate the drawbacks and save the best from previous festivals.

NOCTURNUS AD will release its debut album, "Paradox", on May 24 via Profound Lore Records.
Resurrected from the ashes of influential death metal band NOCTURNUS, NOCTURNUS AD was initiated by founding mastermind/death metal legend Mike Browning (also co-founder of MORBID ANGEL). His intention? To continue the path laid down 28 years earlier, by the legendary Florida death metal band's seminal 1990 full-length "The Key", an album recognized as one of the most important death metal albums of all time.
NOCTURNUS AD's "Paradox" is the direct and proper follow-up to "The Key", both musically and thematically where the story and themes vocalist/drummer Browning initially laid out continue through the lens of the occult. "Paradox"'s story follows the journey of Dr. Allen William Magus (a.k.a. Dr. Magus), a scientist ravaged by a war plague disease and kept alive by creating a bio suit; the aftermath of the events revealed on "The Key".
Death metal extremists MISERY INDEX have released an official music video for the song "Naysayer", taken from the band's latest album, "Rituals Of Power". The clip's arrival coincides with the launch of the group's European tour, which kicks off this Saturday, March 23 at Heidelberg Deathfest. MISERY INDEX will be supported by THE LION'S DAUGHTER as well as WORMROT and TRUTH CORRODED.
The band comments on the video: "In order to celebrate the launch of our first tour for the new album, we offer a video for the track 'Naysayer'.
"The video was filmed several weeks ago at our rehearsal space in Baltimore and is intended to capture the band/us in our most primal creative setting. The idea was to bring to life and visually animate what is perhaps the most ferocious, unrelenting song on the album.
San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans DEATH ANGEL will release their long-awaited ninth full-length album, "Humanicide", on May 31 via Nuclear Blast Records.
With "Humanicide", DEATH ANGEL has maintained its throne in the universe of thrash while still managing to remain progressive in their style. They apply a wide variety of different elements to their music, always pushing to add newness to their sound. This time around they've included everything from acoustic bits to guest musicians to even (for the first time) the notes of a piano. All 10 songs flow seamlessly yet each leaves its own distinct impression.
The first single and title track, "Humanicide", triumphantly represents the entirety of the album, immediately energising the listener. Singer Mark Osegueda remarks: "I wanted to write something that metal fans could really grasp on to. Something dark and intense, that still makes sense. Right now, I think it's so apparent that the earth is in a sickened state."
FIRESPAWN the Swedish death metal project featuring Lars Göran Petrov (vocals; ENTOMBED) and Victor Brandt (guitar; ENTOMBED), Alex Friberg (bass; NECROPHOBIC), Fredrik Folkare (guitar; UNLEASHED, NECROPHOBIC) and Matte Modin (drums; DARK FUNERAL, DEFLESHED) will release its third album, "Abominate", on June 7 via Century Media Records.
Friberg comments: "On this album, we pushed ourselves more then before outside our comfort zone. You will hear a lot more heavy metal influences on this album.
"We never aimed to be a death metal band in the ordinary death metal genre. We make exactly the kind of music that we like and that is more to the extreme side but we always try news things and think outside the box and that is what's so great with FIRESPAWN. Always refreshing great fucking metal! This album is no exception, quite the opposite. On 'Abominate', we explore new ground that not many death metal bands has before. Listen to it and you'll know what I'm talking about."
The artwork was once again painted by Paolo Girardi.
Black metal veterans DARKTHRONE will release their new album, "Old Star", on May 31 via Peaceville. The band's first studio album since 2016's "Arctic Thunder" sees the Norwegian legends cut through six new epic tracks, taking in the best of the old school of heavy and extreme metal plus a large dose of doom-laden riffing, and channelling it through the grime of the underground.
Fenriz enthuses: "'Old Star' again we are here with the riffs! A while after our previous 'Arctic Thunder', album it became apparent that we would continue in that same style, black old heavy metal with slow thrash, classic doom and slow death metal.
"As many have focused on the '70s sound over the last 20 years, the mix on our new album has ended up being more '80s than ever. The songs are more metal than ever! Ted's songs have alot of black metal in them, faster and slower but also doomier parts and reocurring parts. My songs are more linear written. It's an ancient '80s underground trick, with breaks, all slow heavy or slow thrash, classic doom or slow death."
He continues, "All in all, it is our most '80s album so far and our most metal one to date with drum sound typical for the '80s USA/German market and damned lyrics, which are all written by me. We feel that 'Old Star' is the big brother of 'Arctic Thunder'. More solid and with even better riffs."
"Bloodshed", a new song from the godfathers of American doom metal SAINT VITUS, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming, self-titled album, which will be released on May 17 via Season Of Mist.
